Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: friedar (friedar) Assigned to: Miguel (migueljmol) Summary: translation jumpy Initial Comment: The moveTo command's translation component seems to be pretty jumpy in comparison to the smooth rotations that occur when no translation is invoked - see http://moleculesinmotion.com/scitech/boyer/structure/dna/dna.htm - click on the 6th "View Animation" button in the text div. You'll see the move translate the structure upwards in small, discrete increments. Miguel previously replied to me on this, when I posted to the users list long ago: > I was not aware of this. > > I suspect that it is caused by the fact that the arguments to "translate" > are integers ... with relatively little granularity. > > I will investiaget. > > I would appreciate it if you would file a bug report at >http://www.jmol.org -> Bug Database so that this does not get lost. >Miguel But I must have forgotten to file the bug report, because I did not find one at the tracker. Sorry about that Miguel!
