Hello Moon > Can Jmol be embedded into other program? Oh yes. Please read the website and the wiki http://jmol.org "The JmolViewer is a development tool kit that can be integrated into other Java applications." http://jmol.sourceforge.net/docs/JmolDevelopersGuide.html http://wiki.jmol.org/index.php/Main_Page (links in Jmol Development section, on the right pane) |

Thanks Angel, But the most important thing i concern is that whether Jmol can be embedded into a C++ program. I cannot find any helpful material for reference. Thanks very much. Hi Moon I'm not a programmer, so I cannot really give you a firm advice. Being different programming languages, the bets are not good. But I think I read a post by Bob Hanson, not long ago, about isolation of the core functionalties in Jmol (probably related to making the recent Android version of Jmol) and mentioning that would open the chance to port or interface with other programming languages, maybe C++ ? You can try and search the jmol-developers and jmol-users email archive and see if you find it. |

Not possible. But you can start jmol as an independent process and send commands to it over a port. I don't know if I set up callbacks over the port but I think I did not.
