I wrote an ant-build script (see doc/source/build.xml), which shall
replace the Makefile in doc/source/po. The script can create gettext
PO-template files and merge translations back to XML files. One thing,
which does not work at the moment is the update-po target. The command
xml2po -e -u LANG.po SRC.xml
should update LANG.po. But the <apply> task does not run, because
LANG.po already exists. I don't have an ant 1.6.3 system to test the
force attribute. So if someone else has, it would be nice, if you could
tell me, if it works with force="true". You will need a recent version
of gettext and the xml2po application from the gnome-doc-utils package
(>= 0.1.3, 0.2.0 and above is fine).
Because I don't have much experiences with ant, I want to ask some
(1) Is it possible to create a construct like
for i in de fr nl ; do
<command> <options> <file(s)>
to process multiple languages at once (as I would need for the update-po
target), like I can do in Makefiles?
(2) Is it possible to create constructs like
%file %file2 : %file3
to create 1 targetfile from 2 sourcefiles, as I can do in Makefiles? I
guess it is possible by using the right mapping, but I wasn't very
Any help is appreciated.
