René - check out http://symmetry.otterbein.edu/gallery for some symmetry examples exactly like what you describe (sorry - just had to plug my web site here...)

That looks great. I really like the symmetry elements. If only we
could click on them and have a ghost image perform that symmetry
operation so students can see that the starting and end molecule are
indistinguishable. Probably some fancy scripting can do that....
