I issue "select 8" in 1D66.pdb but only 3 residues are selected where I expected 4.

To reproduce:
- Load 1D66.pdb
- "Select 8" selects 3 residues; 1 DNA and 2 protein strands (expected 2 DNA and 2 protein)

    Hi Ola
Nothing is wrong; there are only 3 residues with nr.8. One of the DNA chains is numbered 1 to 19, the other is 20 to 38.

How would one then select the 8th residue of each strand?

By giving its residue number. In your case, you need

    select 8:A,8:B,8:D,27:E

But it depends on your needs. Why do you want the four 8th residues?
