JME C64 1.13 released

The binaries of the final releases for JME C64 1.13 have been added for download. These releases are built from the code of HG revision 357.

The releases contain a redesign of the menu UI, updates to the French translation and some performance improvements for the emulation.

JME C64 1.12 + JSwing C64 1.10.4 released

The binaries of the final releases for JME C64 1.12 and JSwing C64 1.10.4 have been added for download. These releases are built from the code of HG revision 332.

These releases add the option to transfer saved game states via Bluetooth between mobile devices or between a mobile device and a PC.

JME C64 1.11.3 + JSwing C64 1.10.3 released

The binaries of the final releases for JMEC64 1.11.3 and JSwing C64 1.10.3 have been added for download. These releases are built from the code of HG revision 323.

Switched to Mercurial as Source Code Control System

The project now switched to Mercurial instead of SVN as Source Code Control System. Subversion remains active for access to some older revisions that have not been migrated, but it will otherwise no longer be used.

Mobile C64 1.1.1 released

The binary of the final releases for Mobile C64 (formerly Android C64) 1.1.1 has been added for download. These release is built from the code of SVN revision 763.

This release fixes some bugs, e.g. in the video chip and the disk drive implementation.

JME C64 1.11 + JSwing C64 1.10 released

These releases add the feature to automatically start the first game of a disk/tape image that gets attached, instead of doing this in three steps. It also contains some bug fixes and small other improvements.

Mobile C64 1.1 released

The binary of the final releases for Mobile C64 (formerly Android C64) 1.1 has been added for download. These release is built from the code of SVN revision 742.

This release adds sound support. Please note that this is experimental. Without a Just-in-time compiler (JIT) the emulator runs very slow on Android phones and therefore the sound is quite distorted.

JME C64 1.10 released

The binaries of the final release for JMEC64 1.10 have been added for download. This release is built from the code of SVN revision 729.

The new version adds a MIDI-based sound implementation which should finally bring a simple version of the C64 sound also to mobile devices.

New releases of JME C64, JSwing C64 and Android C64

The binaries of the final releases for JME C64 1.9.6, JSwing C64 1.9.6 and Android C64 1.0.7 have been added for download. These releases are built from the code of SVN revision 717.

The new version brings significant performance improvements for normal file loading and also reduces the memory requirements of the emulator a bit.

JME C64 1.9.5 released

The binaries of the final release for JMEC64 1.9.5 have been added for download. This release is built from the code of SVN revision 703.

This release fixes the problem that the previous version might not run on phones not implementing the Sensors API (JSR-256). Additionally it adds automatic screen rotation based on accelerometer data instead of the previous manual rotation and also reduces the memory requirements of the J2ME version a bit.... read more

The release adds support for using a mobile devices accelerometer, as featured by many modern mobile phones, for emulating the joystick directions. So you can move your mobile device and thereby move the C64's joystick. More a gimmick than being really useful ;-).... read more

Mobile C64 1.0.5 released

The binary of the final releases for Mobile C64 (formerly Android C64) 1.0.5 has been added for download. These release is built from the code of SVN revision 671.

This release enabled the emulator to run with version 1.0 of the Android SDK i.e. it runs on real Android phones like the G1.

Added a JME C64 version with pre-bundled games

I just added a JME C64 1.8 version containing some pre-bundled games. This might be interesting for those of you who don't have a mobile device supporting JSR-75 and who don't want to modify the .jar file and add games themselves.

The following games have been downloaded from pdroms.de and are bundled with the .jar file:
- Laser Zone.prg
- Attack of the Mutant Camels.prg
- Bomber.d64
- Cosmic Causeway.d64
- Elite.d64
- Formula 1 Simulator.t64

JME C64 1.8 + JSwing C64 1.8 released

The binaries of the final releases for JMEC64 1.8 and JSwing C64 1.8 have been added for download. These releases are built from the code of SVN revision 631.

This release supports suspend and resume for the emulator, so that you can save the state of the emulator at any time and resume at the same point later. Additionally the JME version now always uses the full screen.

New releases of JME C64, JSwing C64 and Android C64

The binaries of the final releases for JME C64 1.7.5, JSwing C64 1.7.3 and Android C64 1.0.5 have been added for download. These releases are built from the code of SVN revision 624.

The new version reduces the memory consumption of the emulator, so that it should run on more mobile devices. It also reduces the need for Garbage Collections of unused memory which should avoid slowdowns of the emulation during these memory cleanups.... read more

New bytecode-optimized version of JME C64 1.7.2

for the current release JME C64 1.7.2 I have added a bytecode-optimized version of the release. Should you have problems with this version, please inform me in the forums thread https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=4734054. Otherwise I will make these bytecode-optimizations the default for further releases.

JME C64 1.7 + JSwing C64 1.7 + JAWT C64 1.1 released

The binaries of the final releases for JMEC64 1.7, JSwing C64 1.7 and JAWT C64 1.1 have been added for download. These releases are built from the code of SVN revision 526.

This release contains a completely rewritten C1541 floppy drive support. It now also supports up to four disk drives being connected to the C64, just as the original C64 did. You may select between three drive modes (except in the AWT version) with different performance and compatibility.... read more
