Since the tools on sourceforge support it, I've configured them to send email to this list when new bug/features/patches are submitted (NOT on all changes, just on new submission).  This will generate some additional mail traffic (probably not excessive amounts), but means that we aren't dependent on people scanning the trackers looking for new submissions.

If after we try this for a while it generates too much traffic on this list, we can consider setting up an additional list for this kind of traffic, but I think the small increase in list bandwidth is worth it to ensure timely responses to new items.
