#3 Toolbuttons greyed out

With JHotDraw 5.3, all sample Applications
(plus the one I am developing) which do not use the MDI interface
but rather the single-document based one (i.e. DrawApplication-derived)
do not let me select any of the tool buttons - they stay greyed out
all the time.
The tool buttons do work as expected with the MDI_DrawApplication.

I could not find any relevant information in the history but since
it works with the MDI version I suppose there has been a slight
API change I (and the maintainers of the relevant example apps)
have overseen and would appreciate any help to get things
working as they are intended to.

Regards,
Eike

In 5.3 tools and menus are checked for their usability
depending on the current working context. For example, if no
drawing view is available (which is the default case in
MDI_DrawApplications) then most tools and menus are disabled
and greyed out. Due to a bug in AbstractTool their usability
is not checked in the AbstractTool's constructor so their
default was wrong for SDI applications.
Please find attached a corrected version of the file/class
