You won't be able to remount it read-write until fsck is run against it. You're best off unmounting it completely (if possible), running fsck against it, and remounting it. Rebooting should also fix it, assuming a valid entry in /etc/fstab. I'm not aware of any known bugs that would have caused the corruption.
