    Hi all,

    just tried JFS to sync some files to/from a Samba share and found the compare step terrible slow:

    Filecount: ~600
    Total size: ~30MB

    JFS compare local -> Samba: ~115sec
    DIR /S local: ~1sec
    DIR /S Samba: ~3sec
    XCOPY /S local -> Samba: 15sec

    The GUI responds very slow on viewing the result table. It takes ~5sec to scroll one page down (mouse unusable) while CPU utilisation wents up to 20%.

    So what is JFS doing here? It works perfectly on local filesystems!

    Cheers, Frank

      The slow GUI has something to do with the icons. It takes time to retrieve the correct icons on a network share. In the next version, I'll provide a button for turning them off again.

      Cheers,

      Jens.

      Hello Jens,

      I am using JFileSync over an otherwise fast VPN and have the same problem : it becomes unbearably slow, while it works perfectly, nice and facst when physically plugged into the same network.
      If the source of the problem is the same, it would be great if you could provide a fix.

      Well done for the good work.
