i am trying to setup some tests using jfcunit but cannot figure out a basic GUI test.

You can donwload an example for Eclipse from:
http://www.megaupload.com/es/?d=DHCMKNXL
you need the jfcunit eclipse plugin, and add to the project the external jar libraries jfcunit.jat, jakarta-regex.jar (inside the plugin).
To install the plugin, download from jfcunit web site and uncompress into "eclipse_path/plugins"
