This version only works for saving passwords if you have strong crypto, which seems to be only linux and not mac or windows.
I am going to release another version that
    a) steps down to a weak crypto
    b) reports an informative message explaining what to do (install strong crypto).

    I haven't decided which yet.

It seemed to work for me just fine on my two macs 10.6 and 10.8. No errors and was able to log into ftp server via saved password.

Hm. Maybe because you are in the USA and I'm not? Ok, I'll re-expose the plugin. Perhaps it will work for most people. I plan to release another version shortly though that is a little more friendly.

Ah. That's definitely a possibility, know that sometimes the crypto packages aren't available. I agree with you though, if you can find a common ground that's available everywhere, that would be better.
