Hi again, My jedit has automagically healed itself. I 'accidentally', out of habit, typed ctrl-f and the search and replace popped up. I was surprised. The other ctrl- key codes work again as well. What happened? Did the NSA install a keyboard sniffing piece of malware on my machine and, having 'gotten the goods', or gotten bored, uninstalled same? I have no idea. But I'm happy that jedit is back to normal. Maybe a feature of jedit is as the canary in the coalmine? It dies when the NSA comes out of the rocks, like the Clay Men in old Flash Gordon flicks, and attaches its keyboard sniffing malware to your machine? Anyway, I'm a happy man. My jedit works again ... as for the NSA ... we all know who the real terrorists are : we have met the enemy and he is our rogue government. What did John McCain call Medea Benjamin ... scum? The NSA is the scum, not you, not me. That's you NSA guys reading this email. Scum. To all (two of) the ordinary people on the list who helped me, thanks again. I learned more about jedit through your advice. |
