Category: None Group: None Status: Closed Resolution: Fixed Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: MMcVeigh (mmcveigh) Assigned to: Dale Anson (daleanson) Summary: jDiff 2.1.0 buffer switch Initial Comment: The new jDiff 2.1.0 contains some requested new features but with one bug. I can load multiple files then view file1 on the left and file2 on the right of a single vertical split. Invoking jDiff causes the right pane to change viewed buffer from file2 to file1 with jDiff display ON but, of course, no differences. Turning off jDiff, causes the right pane to change back to the original, file2. The new feature request included jDiff not closing a single vertical split if already set and that is working, but I would like jDiff not to change the buffer choice. If there was no split before invoking jDiff, then the plugin should indeed create a single vertical split with the same buffer shown in both panes. This behavior seems to be working correctly. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Dale Anson (daleanson) Date: 2008-12-11 07:06 Message: Sorry about that, I'd forgotten about this bug. I'll get a release request in for a new version of JDiff. In the mean time, I uploaded a copy with the fix here: http://jedit.wiki.sourceforge.net/space/showimage/JDiffPlugin.jar ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Perspectival (perspectival) Date: 2008-12-11 06:23 Message: I love JDiff, but this is driving me crazy. I use the simple two-buffer diff method (and not the Subversion plugin). Any chance of releasing a later version of JDiff with this fix included? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Dale Anson (daleanson) Date: 2008-09-07 20:03 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=187628 Originator: NO Fixed, revision 13621. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Dale Anson (daleanson) Date: 2008-09-05 12:43 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=187628 Originator: NO Ah, got it. I've been looking at JDiff from the SVN Plugin diff view point rather than strictly from a file diff view for a while, so I missed this use case. In your case, you have already split the view, have different files in the right and left, and just want JDiff to diff those. So really, the "already split correctly" case needs to be treated specially. At the moment, JDiff simply gets a copy of the current split configuration, does an unsplit then a vertical split, and expects the user to take it from there. In the case of an "already split correctly" view, the unsplit and replit actions cause the same buffer to be selected in both halves. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=565475&aid=2095399&group_id=588 |
