Ah, sounds like the old "accented characters" problem, where the buffer area cannot see the keystrokes to create accented characters, even though the dialog and option boxes elsewhere in jEdit can. Simple summary: On Mac OS X 10.3.5 in the Search and Replace dialog box I hold down the option key, type the letter 'u' then release the option key, type the letter 'u' again and get this -> ü (Which is a u with an accent over it.) Do the same thing in the main text area and jEdit never seems to recognize the holding of the option key and the initial pressing of the 'u' key. Still no fix for this? Pete |
