Bugs item #756313, was opened at 2003-06-18 01:32 Message generated for change (Comment added) made by lanciaux You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100588&aid=756313&group_id=588 Category: search and replace Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: (?=hello )world search won't find "world" in "hello world" Initial Comment: You can search for "hello" in the string "hello world" where "hello" _has_ to be followed by " world" by using the regular expression hello(?= world) . However, the search for "world" can not be done with the regular expression (?=hello )world since the regular expression tries to match "world" with hello again. So the regular expression (?=hello)..... matches "hello" again. In other words, there is no way to exclude "hello" from the search results. The (?= ) etc. is really handy though. Nice feature.
