Can anyone help please? I use Andy Streich's plugin Xilize a lot with Jedit to produce static html - combined with Jedit's other editing features I can convert a nasty two or three page Word doc into nice, pretty, valid html in about a minute. But Xilize doesn't seem to work with Jedit 4.3 - and Andy seems to have disappeared. I'm not a java programmer by any stretch of the imagination, html, css, a bit of javascript maybe - but I've got no hope of doing this by myself. Is there anyone out there who could take a look at Xilize and see if adapting it to 4.3 is a realistic prospect? I've been using Jedit since 2004, and it'd be a real shame to get left in dark ages (4.2) forever! Paul Bolger +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Here's the error I get when Jedit tries to load the plugin: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: xilize/Exec$StateChangeListener at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method) at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(Unknown Source) at org.gjt.sp.jedit.JARClassLoader._loadClass(JARClassLoader.java:427) at org.gjt.sp.jedit.JARClassLoader.loadClass(JARClassLoader.java:109) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at org.gjt.sp.jedit.bsh.classpath.ClassManagerImpl.classForName(ClassManagerImpl.java:203) at org.gjt.sp.jedit.bsh.NameSpace.classForName(NameSpace.java:1318) at org.gjt.sp.jedit.bsh.NameSpace.getClassImpl(NameSpace.java:1218) at org.gjt.sp.jedit.bsh.NameSpace.getClass(NameSpace.java:1159) at org.gjt.sp.jedit.bsh.Name.consumeNextObjectField(Name.java:298) at org.gjt.sp.jedit.bsh.Name.toObject(Name.java:199) at org.gjt.sp.jedit.bsh.Name.toObject(Name.java:182) at org.gjt.sp.jedit.bsh.Name.invokeMethod(Name.java:829) at org.gjt.sp.jedit.bsh.BSHMethodInvocation.eval(BSHMethodInvocation.java:75) at org.gjt.sp.jedit.bsh.BSHPrimaryExpression.eval(BSHPrimaryExpression.java:102) at org.gjt.sp.jedit.bsh.BSHPrimaryExpression.eval(BSHPrimaryExpression.java:47) at org.gjt.sp.jedit.bsh.Interpreter.eval(Interpreter.java:644) at org.gjt.sp.jedit.bsh.Interpreter.eval(Interpreter.java:738) at org.gjt.sp.jedit.bsh.Interpreter.eval(Interpreter.java:727) at org.gjt.sp.jedit.BeanShellFacade._eval(BeanShellFacade.java:148) at org.gjt.sp.jedit.BeanShellFacade.eval(BeanShellFacade.java:113) at org.gjt.sp.jedit.BeanShell.eval(BeanShell.java:369) at org.gjt.sp.jedit.menu.EnhancedMenu.init(EnhancedMenu.java:114) at org.gjt.sp.jedit.menu.EnhancedMenu.menuSelected(EnhancedMenu.java:99) at javax.swing.JMenu.fireMenuSelected(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.JMenu$MenuChangeListener.stateChanged(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.DefaultButtonModel.fireStateChanged(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.DefaultButtonModel.setSelected(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.JMenu.setSelected(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.JMenu.menuSelectionChanged(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.MenuSelectionManager.setSelectedPath(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.plaf.basic.BasicMenuUI$Handler.mouseEntered(Unknown Source) at java.awt.Component.processMouseEvent(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.JComponent.processMouseEvent(Unknown Source) at java.awt.Component.processEvent(Unknown Source) at java.awt.Container.processEvent(Unknown Source) at java.awt.Component.dispatchEventImpl(Unknown Source) at java.awt.Container.dispatchEventImpl(Unknown Source) at java.awt.Component.dispatchEvent(Unknown Source) at java.awt.LightweightDispatcher.retargetMouseEvent(Unknown Source) at java.awt.LightweightDispatcher.trackMouseEnterExit(Unknown Source) at java.awt.LightweightDispatcher.processMouseEvent(Unknown Source) at java.awt.LightweightDispatcher.dispatchEvent(Unknown Source) at java.awt.Container.dispatchEventImpl(Unknown Source) at java.awt.Window.dispatchEventImpl(Unknown Source) at java.awt.Component.dispatchEvent(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventQueue.dispatchEvent(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpOneEventForFilters(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEventsForFilter(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEventsForHierarchy(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEvents(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEvents(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.run(Unknown Source) Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: xilize.Exec$StateChangeListener at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at org.gjt.sp.jedit.JARClassLoader.loadFromParent(JARClassLoader.java:507) at org.gjt.sp.jedit.JARClassLoader.loadClass(JARClassLoader.java:87) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(Unknown Source) ... 54 more |

It looks like the problem is the beanshell imports. I took a quick look and found the build files are not standard jEdit plugin build files and are somewhat complex. The fix looks like changing out the 'import bsh...' statements with 'import org.gjt.sp.jedit.bsh...' statements, and changing the build files a little to set the classpath correctly. If someone else has time to look into this today, go ahead, otherwise, I'll try to look into it this evening. Dale PS I assume you tried to contact Andy through the project pages for Xilize? Thanks very much Dale. I've tried contacting Andy using a couple of addresses I had from some previous correspondence but he's not answering. I know he had some health problems a couple of years ago which took him out of action for a while. Hopefully he's just working on other things, or having a life outside coding. 2009/8/27 Dale Anson <da...@gr...>: > It looks like the problem is the beanshell imports. Hi Paul, I've been resurrected, thanks to Alan's use of Facebook. ;-) I have a version of Xilize that works with 4.3 that I'll send it to you. If anyone else out there wants or needs a version that works with 4.3, let me know. It would encourage me to do some more work and submit it to the plugin manager. My life has settled down but I have precious little time to enhance Xilize. If anyone can and wants to take the code and push it along, please do so with my blessings. Hi Andy Great to hear from you! In case you haven't been following this thread Dale Anson did a bit of work on the Xilize plugin, and was going to have a crack at finishing it off this week. I also received an email from Tiago Silveira, who was going to ask one of the other named devs for some help. The only new feature request I really have beyond getting it working in Jedit 4.3 would be to have the 'select output directory' patch - which I think is in SVN - incorporated into the plugin central version. Other than that it does everything I need. Hi Andy, Good to see you on the list again. There appear to be 2 problems, and I think both are fairly minor. The first is the imports for beanshell have changed from bsh.* to org.gjt.sp.jedit.bsh.*. The second problem is the API for how the context menu works has been changed to use the service manager, so there needs to be a service.xml file and a class that extends org.gjt.sp.jedit.gui.DynamicContextMenuService. I did the first part, but did not do the second part. I don't have commit ability in the Xilize project, so the changes I made have not been saved anywhere other than on my local box.
