I develop very often in php using jedit with PHPParser and I use Sidekick to
navigate quickly in the code.
I think it would be useful to add a system which would include custom
intems in the list of functions in the Sidekick.
You could define a simple syntax to use within comments to be recognized by
phpparser and displayed in the list of functions by way of comment (a
similar use of #pragma directive in XCode that allows you to add a comment
to appear on the list of methods defined in the file in order to group
together pieces of code).
I saw a similar function can be implemented using ctags instead phpparser to
interpret the code. With following ctags invocation options:
--PHP-kinds=+cfd-v --totals=yes --tag-relative=yes
the parser recognizes the comments starting with "pragma:" and shows them in
the list of methods such as a divider.
But I believe thath Phpparser is more effective than ctags to parse php
