I'm do not know much about Java so I'd much appreciate if someone could tell me, without using Java jargon preferably, how could I make Java aware of the fonts installed on my system. Whichever way I look at it, the font menu of jEdit is somewhat shorter than in other applications plus even for the fonts that are there it gives me the same actual typeface (and I know that it is not what I selected). I understand that all the fonts are handled by the Java engine. So, if a good soul could tell me an easy way of 1) adding fonts to the Java engine and 2) make the Java engine, when I select say Lucida Typewriter use that typeface instead of the Monospaced one that it actually uses. The system is GNU/Linux and both 1.4 and 1.5 java are installed, I guess jEdit uses 1.5. Thanks, Zoltan |

Is there a way to create a persistent global variable in Beanshell? Something that can be found after a macro exits, either by a new invocation of the same macro or by an other macro (i.e. a set of macros can leave status information for each other)? Thanks, Zoltan |

If you use jEdit.setProperty() it would be persistent across executions of jedit too. Does that do what you want? I have samba setup. I'm running Gentoo linux on both ends. When I open a file from a samba directory, I get dialogs popping up quite often in jEdit stating that the Files Changed On Disk, Reloading. The file is not opened anywhere else. It has something to do with it being open across a samba connection. I'm not sure if this is a bad configuration of Samba, or a config option in jEdit, or a bug in something, or something else. Has anyone else seen this type of thing? Is there a fix? Thanks Gene (I've searched the jEdit forums and Google and found nothing that helps with this.) I have set 'if open files are changed on disk' to 'ignore'. this gets rid of the dialog. i supposed i'd like to know when files are changed on disk, so any other fix would be most welcome. I'm guessing samba is changing the files in such a way that jEdit thinks they are changing. Does anyone know how jEdit determines if a file is changed? That might be the first step in working how how to figure Samba to stop tripping up jEdit. cheers gene gene Campbell wrote: > I have samba setup. I'm running Gentoo linux on both ends. As someone pointed out, the most probable reason is your machine's clock being out of sync with the server's clock. (The clocks on the NFS net at work are pretty messed up but I don't have this problem; maybe it's something in the way SMB servers set the mtime of files that differs from the way NFS does it.) You can always turn off this check in the Global Optios dialog, "General" tab. gene Campbell wrote: > I have samba setup. I'm running Gentoo linux on both ends. Hi everybody, I just noticed that the Jedit Wiki has been a target for Wiki spammers. If you go to the Wiki homepage you will see a lot of small *really* small links that look like blue squares. Upon looking at the HTML source I saw this:
<div style="overflow: auto; height:3px;" name="umaxdontremove"> <a href="http://republika.pl/debtconsolidationloan/a-debt-consolidation-refinancing-and-home-improvement-loan.html" target="_top">a debt consolidation refinancing and home improvement loan</a> <a href="http://republika.pl/debtconsolidationloan/395 arizona-debt-consolidation-loan.html" target="_top">395 arizona debt consolidation loan</a> <a href="http://republika.pl/debtconsolidationloan/atlanta-debt-consolidation-loan.html" target="_top">atlanta debt consolidation loan</a> <a href="http://republika.pl/debtconsolidationloan/bad-consolidation-credit-debt-loan-unsecured.html" target="_top">bad consolidation credit debt loan unsecured</a>
---continues Besides annoying and longer loading times it can become a problem for Jedit. Search engines might block Jedit due to these idiot spammers. Who can fix this *permanently*? Is there a more or less permanent solution? grtz, BjornW |

If you can send me the activity log file then I could take a better look; but my first guess is you have a plugin that is incompatible with the newer version of PV. There were two I remember, one of them being the SQL Plugin. Brian Hawkins wrote: > I updated from project viewer 2.1.0.1 to 2.1.2.0 and now I cannot open a > file by double clicking on it? Thanks everybody for the quick responses, but what I'm looking for is a plugin which is completing the standard php functions as well as my own code. So for instance I would like it to show: 'array explode ( string delimiter, string string [, int limit] )' when I type: explod I then could use a certain keystroke to have this particular function added to my code.. Is something like this available? I do have the PHPParser plugin installed, but it seems to lack this functionality or am I missing something?
