This can be solved as follows:
1) Select the "Plugin Options..." from the "Plugins" menu in jEdit.
2) This pops up a "Options:Plugins" window. Select the Java Core option =
the Plugins list displayed in the left hand side of the window. The =
hand side of the window now shows the options for Java Core.
3) Change the value of the "Preferred service for classpath and =
drop down from Default to JCompiler and press OK.

Subject: [ jEdit-users ] Problems Using JEdit
I downloaded JEdit 4.2 and am having problems using
it. I wrote a 'Hello World' program and compiled it
from Windows' Command Line. It compiled fine. When I
tried to compile it from JEdit, I got an error and no
compile. The error is not an error in the 'Hello
World' program. I also tried to add a Background to
JEdit. I got an error, but the Background was
I have already tried uninstalling and re-installing
JEdit, to no effect.
I am using WinXP with SP2 and Java 1.5
I would appreciate any help in this
