Launch jEdit with -nosplash arg, or create a file named "nosplash" in your jEdit's settings directory

is there any way to completely inactivate the jedit splash screen in the 5.3pre1 version? It always shows on my comps, and it does not matter if the option 'Show splash screen on startup' is checked or not.
