I've seen your commit and just want to say that I've added label by default for reason. It works like a hint that tooltips exist when only a few of them are actually set... At least until all tooltips are set or most of them. Otherwise user has a small chance to guess it even exist, especially moving over dozens of rows and having nothing.

Yes, I know what the reason was, but I still found hovertips matching the label kinda annoying, personally.
