When clicking on a file in the BufferList, it does not always show in the active text area of splitted views. I suppose it does show always in the original/top most text area. I would like that it showed in the active text area.

Another point of view on the same subject:
With two buffers open it is often handy to get the new files
opened in the non-active buffer - especially if one wants
just take a look at the newly opened file.

Everything depends on the individual workflow/usecase - so I second this:
To have this implemented as an option for the BufferList-plugin would be nice.

(This feature request should probably moved to the "Plugin Feature Requests"

I second the option bit. It's probably slightly different, but I find it annoying when I have a split view (2+ views) and I click on a file that I already have open in an non-focused text area: it doesn't open in the active text area, but my focus switches to the text area in which it was already open. Two get the same file open in both text areas, I currently must use another method, such as another plugin, or my keyboard. Not as easy as with this plugin. :-(

Are you talking about BufferList plugin? Because I can't reproduce this behaviour. May be because this bug is fixed - see http://www.humyo.com/F/1256425-132191091 .

Heh, I'll try to only click 'SUBMIT' once this time.

I think I'm talking about the BufferList plugin ... The tree-like list of open buffers? If the bug either of us is talking about is fixed, why is it not downloading through the Plugin Manager?

I actually note that I've had no plugin updates in quite awhile. Hmm. I'll have to check that out more thoroughly, perhaps later tonight.

Because I am waiting new multi-view buffer list API to become stable.

Link contains one of latest svn versions of BufferList plugin. I changed event handling that reduced problems with focus which (I believe) are the source of this bug. In order to try new version, replace BufferList.jar in <jedit_dir>/jars or <home>/.jedit/jars directory. You may want to backup old version for comparative analysis.

o.k. I tested the provided BufferList.jar and the reported usability issue
seems indeed to be fixed. Otherwise the new BufferList plugin seems to work
    fine.
(I found a minor problem and filled already a separated bug report for that)
