r17256 causes jEdit to hang at startup.

I've tried disabling the JDiffPlugin, but it made no difference.

I have several views with various split setups. On startup, jEdit uses full CPU for some time, then idles - after several minutes, the splash screen disappeared, but the views did not appear nonetheless.
I had to kill javaw.exe and revert to r17255.

I have a bad feeling about this. It's "fixed" in revision 17262. The real root of the problem is that the View.getBuffer method can return null. The javadoc explicity states this. However, there are a LOT of places in the core jEdit code that assume this method never returns null. I think a better fix is to make sure that the editPane field in View is never null. I'll leave this open while I investigate this possibility.

Closing -- I haven't heard any issue with this in the past 2 years.
