[notice] jEdit: jEdit version 2.6pre9

when pressing the alt key to focus the main menu as in other windows apps, it doesn't focus on the menu in jEdit, only in the little icon where you can close/minimize/maximize the program. any idea why this doesn't work?

This is either NOT a bug or I'm misinterpreting your bug report.

All of the following behaviors are correct and operate as expected in jEdit 2.6

When you're in the main editor window and press the ALT key, nothing happens.

When you're in the main editor window and hold down the ALT key and press the underlined letter for an item in the menu at the top of the screen, it opens the appropriate menu listing.
(For example, pressing ALT+F opens the file menu.)

This is the normal behavior of all Java applications with
menus. Use F10 to focus the menu.
