We have observed performance problems with some 1.5 JVMs.  I am working with the vendor now
to resolve this, but I would like to wait until that issue has been resolved before committing to 1.5
features.

I've been out in meetings for 2 days so I am just catching up now.

Subject: re[2]: [Jdbm-developer] Compiler and run-time requirements...

Are there any solution spaces that don't have 1.5?  Mobile/embedded ?

If not, then I'd love to ditch the old compiler and runtime and start using 1.5 features...

My own preference would be 1.5 compiler and 1.5 bytecode as default.

For 1.4 bytecode compatibility, we could use Retrotranslator which is
pretty easy to setup.
