sorry for being slow at responding.
I just did a fresh install of Jamoma 0.4.2 downloaded from jamoma.org.
The tutorials seems to work as expected. You will get two error messages
whenever creating a new patch using one of the module templates:
• error: jcom.hub (jmod.video.template module): preset file not found
• error: jcom.hub (jmod.video.template module): preset.recall - invalid
These error messages are indicating that no preset file exist for the
module yet. Apart from that they seem to work as expected for me.
If you still have problems I suggest that you remove your Jamoma folder
as well as the template files from /patches/templates and reinstall.
jmod.qmetro_tutorial.mxt is not a file distributed as part of Jamoma.
The tutorial on how to build a module suggest creating new files along
the way named, jmod.qmetro_tutorial.mxt, jalg.qmetro_tutorial.mxt, etc.
If you already have these files in the folder I suspect that they might
be leftovers from previous attempts at following the tutorial. If so,
and that was previous to version 0.4.0 I would suspect them to be
I would suggest trashing them and then make them anew following the tuorial.
Apart from that, if you subscribe to the jamoma-users mailing list, you
might get quicker replies to your questions than this time as you will
be addressing all of the developers and users. You'll find the link at
As you start working with Jamoma, you might also consider installing
Subversion (SVN) so that you can get the active branch. This way you
will be able to get updates and changes as they happen, instead of
having to wait for releases to be made. We have been fixing quite a few
bugs since releasing 0.4.2.
I have to warn you though that the active branch might at times have
functionalities broken for as while as we are doing development and
changes and then testing.
More information regarding retrieving Jamoma using SVN can be found on
the wiki sectio of Jamoma.org.
