Today i write a program using jacob to do some work about word file. It works fine in my machine, but it doesn't work in my friend's.
While debuging in my friend's machine, it print out the info"can't map name to dipid: Quit". I don't understand why it doesn't work.
my machine is win 7  , my friend's is win XP,  we both office 2007 , both jdk 1.6, both jacob 1.9.1……..only the os is different.
    Can anyone help me, please?
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi Minsitu,

Have you got an answer to your query?

I am having the same issue. I am using Jacob's 1.7-M2 tough. The only difference between my environments is one is a 32-bit while the other is a 64-bit OS.

    Help is much appreciated,

    Marta

moving from 32 bit to 64 bit is a bigger move than just "only difference".  You've introduced 32 bit office vs 64 bit office, 32 bit dlls vs 64 bit dlls and 32 bit java vs 64 bit java. Saying one os is 32 bit and the other is 64 bit means you have several new variables when comparing systems.
