Ctrl-A selects all, but there is no menu item or key shortcut to unselect all. Cllicking a single row selects that row, but this is not the same as deselecting all selected rows. In addition to the menu item, using Ctrl-Shift-A for this function mirrors the ctrl-m/ctrl-shift-m for marking/unmarking all.
