When pushing citations to emacs, JabRef automatically calls gnuclient. Newer versions of gnu emacs (22.1) use emacsclient instead, and it would be convenient to be able to choose the client program.

Oh, actually it does. Emacsclient was in my PATH but JabRef was ignoring
that; if I plugged in the full path to emacsclient (like the JabRef popup
says), then citation pushing worked.
These days, I'm on Windows, and can't get this to work.

I assume, you use linux, don't you?
Options -> Preferences -> External programs -> "Settings for Emacs" ->
"Path to Emacs": "emacsclient", "Additional parameters": "-n -e"
This should work for you, doesn't it?

I second that. This would be a very welcome feature.
