When pushing citations to emacs, JabRef automatically calls gnuclient. Newer versions of gnu emacs (22.1) use emacsclient instead, and it would be convenient to be able to choose the client program.

I second that. This would be a very welcome feature.

Hi, I would like to join this request.

A quick search in the database gave two more requests connected with this issue (#1425369, #1619901).

    Is any progress possible?

I assume, you use linux, don't you?

Options -> Preferences -> External programs -> "Settings for Emacs" -> "Path to Emacs": "emacsclient", "Additional parameters": "-n -e"

This should work for you, doesn't it?

These days, I'm on Windows, and can't get this to work.

Oh, actually it does. Emacsclient was in my PATH but JabRef was ignoring
that; if I plugged in the full path to emacsclient (like the JabRef popup
        says), then citation pushing worked.

        Thanks!
