I am using the JabRef 2.9.2 release (downloaded and installed, not webstart) on OSX Mountain Lion. The "Recent files" menu under the File tab is always disabled (greyed out) when I start up JabRef. If I open a bib file and then close it, it shows up in the Recent files list, but if I close and re-open JabRef, the list is empty.

Additionally, although the "Open last edited databases at startup" option in Options/File is enabled, JabRef always starts with an empty window. This behavior occurs both with and without the "Use native file dialog" option.

I have searched via Google and through the bug tracker system for relevant tickets without success. There is a closed ticket from 2006 that discusses problems with the recent files list, but it is not the same problem. I have been unable to find any previous discussions of this problem.

Thanks for your attention and for the very useful software. Please let me know if you need any further information or testing, I would be happy to provide it.
