I am trying to import data for an Excel file.
But the problem is that I don't know what is the correct template that I
need to use to create de data in the excel file.
One of my test was export data from Jtrac with the export to excel feature
and after taht modify some data in this file and try to import , but always
appears the same message "Error processing file, may not be valid Excel
    file. "

I am using the 2.2.0-dev 5 version of Jtrac.

Thanks in advance for any help.

There is no tempate, try to upload a normal file with data, the logic is it will stop processing columns on the first row when it reaches an empty cell and it will stop processing rows when it hits an empty row.

in that case, why doesn't it accept the format used by Jtrac when building an Exported file?

also, why does it ask that you "mark columns" when there is no preview of the excel file availalbe?

I've uploaded a video of how to import an excel file.  Just that the project (with proper custom fields) and the users have to be created (or exist) beforehand.

      Here is the link:

    Hi  Ptrthomas,
I have 2 instance of Jtrac is running both are having a same space.
I have exported excel file from one instance of Jtrac for the particular project and I did not change any formating of XLS. Then try to inport the XLS into other JTrac instance for the same project . Both are having same number of fields..While importing it , i get the error as "Field has to be mapped for Summary, LoggedBy, Detail, AssignedTo.

Please do the needful to help me as it is critical for me to move further…

    Thanks
