    Hello,

    I'm able to use DV without problems on my system (e.g. kino). I compiled IVT with DV support and then run an example:

    > ./captureapp
    = Found 0 cameras ==================================
    error: could not open requested number of cameras
    error: could not open camera
    press return to quit

    BTW:
    > lsmod|grep 1394
    dv1394                 25948  0
    raw1394                32732  0
    ohci1394               38576  1 dv1394
    ieee1394               94660  4 dv1394,raw1394,sbp2,ohci1394

    Any ideas?

    regards
      Andreas

  • It seems  dc1394_camera_enumerate(m_pDC1394, &camera_list) in CLinux1394Capture2::ListCameras() is returning 0.

    But I don't understand why other DV application on my system are working. If you've no idea I'll ask on the dc1394 website for support.

    thanks
      Andreas

    Hello Andreas,

    aren't you mixing up dc1394 and dv1394? The IVT module CLinux1394Capture2 encapsulates libdc1394 (v2). Your listing lists the kernel module dv1394 (which doesn't appear in my case), but not video1394 (which appears in my case). Have you installed libdc1394 properly, and what type of camera do you want to use?
