Continuing synchronization?

Is there a way to get isync to repeatedly synchronize folders
without:

1.  Storing my password is plain text.

2.  Having to type it in all the time.

I'd like a less-IMAP-braindead repleacement for fetchmail, but isync
doesn't seem to have any daemonizing options at all.  At least,
nothing I can find in the man pages for isync or mbsync.
