I want to ask about the development state of the Sharp UIRCC driver.
It is marked as "there's work in progress for supporting the chipset
in Linux-IrDA" on the Linux-IrDA web page. Also there is old
driver on http://irda.sourceforge.net/ftp/drivers/uircc/uircc.c
It seems to be orphaned and will not even compile an recent kernels.
First I will ask if anyone out there is working on this or a similar
driver. I'm willing to help development and testing of this driver.
I've considered to write a driver for my Toshiba Tecra 530 by reserve
engineering the Windows driver (tos4mu.sys is pretty small about 33k
or 5000asm lines) some time ago. ThenI put back in lack of time.
But I've already found out the chips is called uircc...
Now I've found your driver on the above location. I
have now actual demand for the driver. With this new information I may
start an other try if there isn't such a driver already available.
