    Thanks for your links.
What I think the most important point is to write "on" to /sys/devices/platform/hpipaq214-wifi/wifistate, which I try to do in init.ipaq214.rc, but with busybox ifconfig I don't see the interface card popping out, perhaps the card isn't detected so fast so I need to sleep 10 I think.
Wifi should be working by command line first before integrating into Android's settings.

What I know is that I'll have to find a way which turns on the Wifi's SDIO power only when it is needed, or else it will be on forever and eats battery.

Will be trying in a few days.

I think I managed to get the Android UI to turn on WiFi and scan for AP, but I haven't tested if it can connect to it and browse. There is also a problem that the WiFi cannot be turned off.
I will upload the stuff later.

Partially working already in dev release 2012-01-08.
WiFi can start, connect and you can browse the internet. Stopping WiFi, however, will cause problem.

Still need to look into the way to allow the UI to stop WiFi.

I didn't look at how you had android setup for wifi but normally in android your wifi driver is a module which has modinit which has the command to power on wifi and a modexit which has power off functions and driver unloading. So from the android UI you set it to use this module and turning on/off wifi simply loads and unloads the module.

I think I know the problem is wrong module name in BoardConfig.mk. I'll try later.

BTW if you read the module code you'll see that it's really simple:P

After some modifications and rebuilds, I found that the WiFi will sometime fail, terminating wpa_supplicant and cause zygote to restart. It is due to a delay between switching on and libertas to load the firmware. Actually I think this is due to the slow force rescan on mmc perhaps.

Especially when I can't stop WiFi, it gets automatically turned on each time on boot, which many other things use up the CPU and make it much slower and cause some failures.

Can anyone figure out how to solve this problem?

I don't seem to have any problem concerning WiFi in the current setup. If there are nothing else, this issue will be closed in a month.
