yes it is right, that AIX is currently not supported.
Question from my side:
Isn't there some kind of Linux binary support in
AIX 5L? If there is such support, then it might
be easier, but then there is still a need for a port
to the PowerPC CPU.
So if you are interested in porting - go for it!
I will support you as much as I can.

Can you please point me at a good place to go to read about

In answer to your questions:
There is LINUX support in AIX 5L. I generally prefer "native"
support rather than a hybrid environment if I am driving a
workload. This is the real reason for an AIX port. Experience
has shown that hybrids often have built in bottlenecks to get
past bugs caused by timing holes, etc, hwere programmers
take shortcuts to complete a function rather than "do it the
right way". (No guarantee, but it is often the case.) I want to
avoid them.

I agree about prefering "native". Especially when it comes
to async IO etc.
About the environment is not that much to say. We develop
against an CVS server (provided by SourceForge).
Communication is mostly direct over eMail, but there is a
mailing list (iometer-devel@lists.sourceforge.net) too.
Don't hesitate to contact me directly over eMail
Best regards

I need this on AIX 5.3 or higher too.
