The whole of the iODBC project uses a dual license (see LICENSE,
LICENSE.LGPL and LICENSE.BSD):

Note that the only valid version of the LGPL license as far as this
project is concerned is the original GNU Library General Public
License Version 2, dated June 1991.
While not mandated by the BSD license, any patches you make to
the iODBC may be contributed back into the iODBC project at your
discretion. Contributions will benefit the Open Source and Data
Access community as a whole. Submissions may be made at
This means that when you incorporate the iODBC Driver Manager into your
application, you get to choose which license you want to adhere to. For
most situations the LGPL V2 ONLY license is enough as this covers both
open source and commercial application of the underlying libraries etc
as long as you abide by the terms (have to share the source code + any
patches you make). For some distributions this was not free enough, so
we have decided to also allow the (new) BSD license.
Although not compulsory under the BSD license, we do request you share
any changes you make to the iODBC code for the benefit of the Open
Source community as a whole.
