Inprotect 0.80.0 Beta released

The Inprotect Development Team is proud to announce the long awaited and anticipated Inprotect 0.80.0 Public Beta Release.

It contains many feature and performance enhancements far too numerous to list here.

However, a word of caution: This is only a Public Beta release, and we don't wish to be responsible for any data loss on your part. So, either back up your sql data before attempting an upgrade from 0.22.5, or just play it safe and do a clean install. Even with a clean install, you should probably take this time to backup your sql data, anyway. :))... read more

New Development Roadmap plan

After much deliberation, the development team have agreed upon a Development roadmap plan to ensure that future versions are more supportable, stable and scalable. As per any good project plan, we will be tackling this in small but important chunks. It will take some time as we all have real jobs, real lives and (yes) girlfriends.

So as of this release, we will not be making any feature request enhancements to the 0.2x branch but we will fix bugs that are reported through the SourceForge Bug Tracker (http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=67220&atid=517273). The roadmap is as follows:... read more

New Team

All!

There has been a flurry of activity for Inprotect over the last 24 hours.

In summary, there was a brief "takeover" where for some unknown reason the Sourceforge system failed to send a notice of takeover intent to my email address.

Had I received such a request, I would have promptly indicated new developers were welcome, but that I intended to continue to administer this project.

I am also attempting to contact Alex by phone to find out his intentions for the future of Inprotect.... read more

Free Security Vulnerability Scan with Inprotect

Have you ever been visiting a friend or client, and wanted to convince them how important security really is?

The Inprotect website now has a free online vulnerability scan available, using Nessus 2.2.0 and the current CVS build of Inprotect. The free scan is limited to scanning the host IP address of the person requesting the scan, and only the Sans Top 20 Vulnerabilities are scanned.
