Could the alt modifier key not be hardcoded for that function, i.e.
customizable as already done for some other functions?
Reason: the alt key is used for accented characters on a Mac, hence not
usable as a modifier for people with native languages using those
accented characters. This leads to impossibility to use the letter

Eventually I think yes, though currently they are not customizable. In
the short term we should add a control to the text toolbar so that
it's at least possible to do with a mouse.

That gets to be a bit tricky, what with all the platforms and locales =20=
Rest assured that it is a targeted correction, as I'm also on Mac's =20
and I'm strongest on UI fixups.
Once it gets underway, we'll probably need to ask for wide =20
participation in testing, as that really helps on something like this.
