I could not find the icc profile FOGRAL39.icc so I edited pdfx.sty to
use FOGRA39.icc which I found. With that change the compile ran
to completion. However the output file was very large, 491328
bytes for a one word test file. In all likelihood the use of the icc
profile caused this.
There was one non-significant warning message:
Package hyperref Warning: draft mode on.
