But aside from the other issues, the binary might need to be compiled
with their glue layer to get it to use the library.

So, if you take the unicows.dll back out of your system folder, does
inkview then stop working again?
And does inkscape crash differently?
I'm just interested in finding out if you're actually seeing
different behavior just by dropping in the .dll
