The following bugs have been identified as 'required fixes' for the
Inkscape 0.39 release:
984902 (CLOSED) "paint-selector.cpp: patternmenu getting destroyed"
979858 (OPEN 9) "image xlink: pixmaps linked with relative path don't work"
978391 (OPEN 9) "Autopackage installation"
978250 (OPEN 9) "mkinstalldirs error."
Bulia also mentioned some export dialog issues, but there isn't a ticket
number associated with it yet, so it's unclear what the status is.
I've reduced the other other critical bugs to level 8.

While investigating this under suse 9.1, I discovered another rather
serious bug. The libsigc++ (version "1.2.5" they claim) has a busted
sigcconfig.h that defines all the regular automake stuff ("VERSION",
"PACKAGE_NAME", etc). In the _stock_ sigc++ 1.2.5, this whole section
is #ifdef'd out. I have no idea what suse packaged, but it isn't 1.2.5.
Compiling with this, g++ throws TONS of warnings, but things don't seem
to break, as far as I can tell.
Beyond that, Suse 9.1 seems fine with mkinstalldirs; it just uses "mkdir
Since the error is in the po dirs, I suspect a intltool issue.
Continuing to investigate...
