I have been tasked to implement a Rhozet WFS cluster at work and am trying to find a linux alternative to present to management. Can this product be used to transcode a prores file to MXF?
Prores is a codec, MXF is a wrapper, so the question is not well formed.
However the underlying ffmpeg used in Ingex can be used to decode Prores, and encode some codecs in MXF wrappers.
However A more up to date version than used in Ingex would be recommended.
Thanks for your response and for setting me straight. What would be a more up to date method that you would recommend?
I think he meant use a more up to date version of ffmpeg than the one installed by Ingex.
I use ffmpeg (well, actually ffmbc, which is a Broadcast video tuned variant) to convert occasional Prores footage to MXF for Avid use.
Download from here http://code.google.com/p/ffmbc/
Try using version 0.7rc7
