    Hi everyone,

I am looking to use Ingex for multiple recordings of HD from 4 up to 6 sources.
What is the recommended hardware and software combination for Ingex that is stable using current technology? Motherboard, OS, RAM, GPU and Capture card.

Looking for a solution that is stable and know to work.

Is Ingex still in use at the BBC?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Cheers,
    Scott

It is rather difficult to advise on hardware.  In our lab we use HP Z800 with 2 x 4- or 6-core processor, 8 GB RAM, 3 x SATA disc in RAID-0 for video storage, Nvidia Quadro graphics card and DVS capture card.

Ingex is used in the BBC for production of soap opera EastEnders.  Those systems are operated by BBC Studios & Post Production and use different hardware.

    Hi John,

Thanks, good to know what you are using to test with.

    Is openSUSE 12.2 supported?
What is the current status for support of blackmagic cards? Limitations?

    Thanks for your time.

Yes, Ingex works on opensuse 12.2 - not heavily tested, though.

We don't maintain Blackmagic capture code as much as DVS.  Main limitation is that playback is not supported.
