If you can come up with a way to make ID's unique and send me a patch, I'll incorporate it into the official source tree. I suggest you modify include/data_manager.FS.inc (adding a UID field would be redundant with a DB backend since the IDs are already unique -it's better to just make IDs unique with a FS backend).
