Since most modern browsers have auto-fill features of one sort or another, I think it's safer to leave it to the users and their browsers. The problem is my browser (IE6) doesn't remember the password at Ilohamail login page only, but any other sites/pages does. Very strange! I have to doubt Ilohamail does something special to prevent IE remembering the password for auto-fill later. By the way, I set several host names, a dropdown list is showed in login page. Regards! What I could do is to store the session ID in a cookie. So in cookie enabled browsers, people can get into their email without logging in, until they log out or the session times out. I guess a lot of sites work this way (there would be a "remember me" checkbox in the login page) so it shouldn't be too confusing. The only concern I have is for people who access their email in public places... Yes, I usually just close the brower in stead of logout. Then, if I come back before the session's timeout, I needn't login again, but if it's after session timeout, I have to re-login. The question is about this re-login. Normally, when I typed username and press tab to jump into password input box, the password will be auto-filled by the brower, displayed as "****", but in Ilohamail, it doesn't, just blank. Why? Perhaps you're using a crappy browser? :) Mozilla does a fine job at storing you username and password. Right after loading the login page, I am prompted which identity I'd like to use. After selecting one, the relevant data is put on the right place and I can simply click 'login'. Ofcourse if you can supply any information on when and what IE will remember, perhaps Ilohamail can get a crappy-browser-workaround build in :) Jeroen. The plain text version of the devlog (the official log) will contain all past entires. Ryo |
