when i'm using privoxy 3.0.21 and playing mp3 files (with vlc, winamp,...) the audio sounds chopped for 2 or 3 seconds the first time the web browser (firefox) load any web page containing (a lot of) images. after modifying the firefox settings to use no proxy (no privoxy) the audio sounds smoothly again.

change the privoxy process priority to real time does not help.

    Changing Privoxy's priority to "real time" likely increases its share of cpu time which is probably not what you intended.

    Did you try modifying the priority of the media player instead?

    Anyway, it's not clear to me why you think this is a Privoxy problem and not a scheduling issue.

    A log file excerpt should help to figure out if Firefox is using an unreasonable amount of simultaneous connections or if Privoxy is spending too much time executing filters that could be rewritten to be more efficient:
