Initial Comment:
Is it possible start Privoxy without the main window,
so that only the system tray icon appears? I have
played unsuccessfully with the option "hide-console" in
config.txt, but I think that this option is irrelevant.
(The documentation says that it is "specific to the
MS-Win console version of Privoxy" which I believe to
be a different version from the full GUI version which
I am running.)

Is this anything but the typical open source hacker
mentality: "Users SHOULD want the console displayed, whether
they realize this or not, every good hacker wants to see as
much information as possible so users should too, so we will
give users the option to hide the console, but won't
actually hide it, for the users' own good." Any other excuse
for putting in the option but having it not do anything? I
can't think of any other reason, except for this syndrome
you see all the time in the hacker community and their code.

this would be such a good enhancement
I just care that it works, not seeing the logfile 99 times out of 100. having to shut the window on every reboot becomes pretty boring!
