Category: None Group: None >Status: Pending Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: ms6842 (ms6842) >Assigned to: Fabian Keil (fabiankeil) Summary: Can't open/ run Privoxy (poss. configuration issue) Initial Comment: I just recently installed Tor and Privoxy (version 3.0.0.17) from code (Aug 22, 2011) on (Linux) Ubuntu 11.04 - natty The user manual doesn't mention any specific instructions however I attempted to open the program using the "other" Linux instructions (section 5.4) in the user manual under startup http://www.privoxy.org/user-manual/startup.html. This didn't work neither did the instructions in 5.2 (Debian). Regardless I attempted to configure my web browser (Firefox 6.0) however as can be expected it didn't work. I also attempted to test if it was running using config.privoxy.org and as expected I only saw the message "Privoxy is not being used". I am unsure if there may be a problem in my configuration settings as if I understand correctly the configuration file is supposed to be /etc/privoxy/config which doesn't contain any executable commands. username: ms6842 email: msd...@ya... Thank You ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Fabian Keil (fabiankeil) Date: 2011-08-22 19:42 Message: It's not clear to me what Privoxy version you are using. Did you download the official source tarball for 3.0.17 and compiled it yourself? If so, did you use any configure arguments? Did you get a privoxy executable in the build directory? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=211118&aid=3396585&group_id=11118 |
